The North Dakota Governor’s Awards for the Arts program is presented by the Governor’s Office and the North Dakota Council on the Arts to recognize organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the arts in the state.

Nomination Categories: 

• Individual Achievement (artist, staff, or volunteer)

• Arts Organization

• Arts in Education (educator, school, or administrator)

• Private Business

​

Criteria for the awards include:

• Expanding arts opportunities to new audiences

• Improving the quality of arts experiences

• Creating an appreciation for North Dakota’s cultural heritage

• Making the arts more central to education and an integral part of community life

• Length of service.

Nomination materials include:

• Statement of Support: In the field below, or on a separate sheet of 8.5” by 11” paper, describe in up to one (1) page why the nominee meets the criteria of this award.

• Support materials: A brief biography of the recipient, and resume no more than two (2) pages. Letters of support, news articles, reviews, awards, etc. Do not include original support materials as they will not be returned.

Submission Process: 

• The nomination form must be postmarked or submitted below online, and nomination materials must be mailed or uploaded by January 11, 2019. Faxed applications will not be accepted. If mailing send to: ND Council on the Arts, 1600 E. Century Ave., Suite 6, Bismarck, ND 58503.

• If using the online nomination form below, support materials can be uploaded on Dropbox; or they can be mailed in to NDCA. 

• To upload nomination materials to Dropbox: Step 1 - Rename/label all files with the Nominee's name; Step 2 - Open the Dropbox link at https://www.dropbox.com/request/g2X7OAtb0WvM62hCrgej, click on "Choose files" and select the document, images, etc. to be uploaded, if additional files need to be uploaded, click on "+Add another file"; Step 3 - Please include your name and email address in the fields before selecting "Upload" to upload your file(s).
